With Michael’s extensive experience and leadership, BES has grown to a full service building science firm covering new construction, existing buildings, and litigation support. He continues his work on ASTM committees, industry publications, and mentoring, coupled with his education and practical experience, all to continue the growth of BES.
Charles B. AntoneChief Operating Officer
Charles is the Co-Founder and COO of Building Enclosure Science. Established in 2013, BES has grown to service the regional and national markets, and is a three-time recipient of the PBN fastest growing and innovative companies award. Charles is educationally trained in mathematics, computer science, and philosophy, practically experienced in commercial construction as a project manager, and estimator, a successful building science entrepreneur, and an expert in production based scheduling and analysis, quality control, and construction costs.
Joan CostelloDirector of Human Resources
Joan has 30 plus years of human resources, corporate leadership, performance management, mentoring, and legal experience. As a member of the executive team, Joan helps shape and drive BES strategic objectives.
With, more than 20 years of experience, Gil is responsible for overseeing building enclosure consulting and commissioning projects. He is a certified commissioning process provider through the University of Wisconsin School of Engineering and a LEED Accredited Professional. Additionally, he is active with many industry associations including the Boston Society of Architects – building enclosure council, the United States Green Building Council, and the American Society of Testing Materials, International (ASTM).
Mat SpinolaProfessional Services Manager
Mat is a project executive with 12 years of experience in the architectural, engineering, and construction fields, specializing in building envelope evaluation and forensics, waterproofing restoration, construction documents, and design detailing through construction administration. Additional professional experience includes interdisciplinary teaming, office and staff management, and all stages of peer review projects, from the initial design(s) through construction.
Robert CarlsonOperations Manager
Bobby has more than 14 years of professional experience in construction project management, building envelope evaluations, analysis, general contracting, and construction administration. Building projects managed range from large-scale new construction to complex rehabilitation projects including retail, corporate, industrial residential, academic, as well as healthcare facilities.
Seth IzziBusiness Development Manager
Seth has more than 17 years of experience in consulting, facilities management, and architecture fields. Owner’s Representative and Project Management experience includes project team leadership, vendor procurement, construction oversight, client communication, design solutions, and reporting.
Mike possesses more than 25 years of professional and technical experience. Building envelope design and restoration project experience has culminated in extensive knowledge of building systems, providing clients with expert roofing, façade, and waterproofing evaluations, recommendations, budget estimates, and design documents.
Craig is a certified auditor of air barrier systems and inspector for spray foam installations, through the Air Barrier Association of America. He is a certified EIFS inspector through the Association of Walls and Ceilings Industry (AWCI), a Registered Roof Observer through the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC, formerly Roof Consultants Institute (RCI)), and a trained building science thermographer. Craig’s experience includes commission and field testing of building enclosure systems on many institutional, commercial, and municipal projects throughout his 15+ year career.
Sam is a project engineer whose primary focus for the firm includes the commissioning and field performance verification testing on new construction building enclosure projects. Additionally, Sam has extensive experience in existing building investigation and analysis. He is a certified EIFS inspector, and has extensive experience in the fields of concrete engineering and inspection. He is active in many industry associations relating to building enclosure commissioning and systems inspection and performance.
Frank’s has more than 29 years of professional experience in design, building envelope, construction technology, project and client management, and project coordination. Extensive knowledge of design/drafting, construction administration, existing condition drawings, document production and review, team management, and client services.
Dan has more than 10 years of experience in the building envelope and architecture fields. His professional experience is in architecture and building design, condition assessments and investigations, and construction management.
Dan NowlanConsultant, AIA
Over his 10 year career, Dan has gained experience performing enclosure evaluations, design, testing construction administration, code research and facilities management capital planning on new and existing construction, on a wide range of commercial, institutional, and municipal projects.
With 16 plus years of professional experience, Ryan provides building envelope evaluations, analysis, construction administration, and architectural design. Projects range from existing building systems evaluation, quality control inspections, document review to on-site construction quality assurance, and writing detailed reports.
Katarina’s professional experience includes a wide range of design projects, construction plan review and analysis, building envelope quality control and moisture analysis. Buildings evaluated range from academic buildings to commercial and medical complexes.
Ryan has years of professional experience in the building envelope, construction, commercial and architecture fields. Project experience includes a wide range of repair design drafting work for medical facilities, sports arenas, religious institutions, and residential and commercial buildings.
Ryan possesses years of professional experience in the building envelope, construction, commercial, and residential fields. Extensive experience in wood-framed condominium structures and rehabilitation projects.
