Michael E. Kenney

Chairman of the Board

Continuing his lifelong career in building science—specifically in materials testing and forensics—Michael cofounded BES in 2013 and is now its CEO. His extensive experience and leadership have enabled the company to grow to a full-service building science firm covering new construction, existing buildings, and litigation support. Michael’s continued work on American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) committees, industry publications, and mentoring—coupled with his education and practical experience—contributes to the positive growth of BES.

Charles B. Antone

Chief Executive Officer

As cofounder and President of BES, Charles has helped expand the company to service regional and national markets, making it a three-time recipient of Providence Business News’ fastest growing and innovative companies award. His formal education in mathematics, computer science, and philosophy complements his practical experience in commercial construction as a project manager and estimator, a successful building science entrepreneur, and an expert in production-based scheduling and analysis, quality control, and construction costs.

Gil Castonguay

President

With more than 20 years of experience, Gil is responsible for overseeing building enclosure consulting and commissioning projects. He is a certified commissioning process provider through the University of Wisconsin School of Engineering and a LEED accredited professional. Additionally, he is active in many industry associations including the Boston Society of Architects, the Building Enclosure Council, the United States Green Building Council, and the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM).

Seth Izzi

Vice President of Business Development

Seth brings more than 17 years of experience in consulting, facilities management, and architecture fields to his work for BES. His owner’s representative and project management experience includes project team leadership, vendor procurement, construction oversight, client communication, design solutions, and reporting.

Chrissy Wolpert

Associate Vice President of Finance

As a member of the executive team Chrissy works closely with corporate, managers, staff and resources to manage the budgeting, modeling, accounting, bookkeeping and corporate tax preparation functions of BES. In addition to her business experience, Chrissy is a voice instructor, singer and performer.

Sheri Machado

Associate Vice President of Human Resources

Sheri has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources leadership across multiple industries including banking, medical, packaging, educational consulting, and more. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Human Resources Management and holds her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute.

Mat Spinola

Associate Vice President of Operations

A project executive with 12 years of experience in the architectural, engineering, and construction fields, Mat specializes in building envelope evaluation and forensics, waterproofing restoration, construction documents, and design detailing through construction administration. Additional professional experience includes interdisciplinary teaming, office and staff management, and all stages of peer review projects, from initial design through construction.

Mike Aries

With more than 25 years of professional and technical experience in building envelope design and restoration, Mike has extensive knowledge of building systems. He provides clients with expert roofing, façade, and waterproofing evaluations, recommendations, budget estimates, and design documents.

Craig Andrade

Consultant

Craig is a certified auditor of air barrier systems and inspector for spray foam installations through the Air Barrier Association of America. He is a certified EIFS inspector through the Association of Walls and Ceilings Industry (AWCI), a Registered Roof Observer through the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC)—formerly Roof Consultants Institute (RCI)—and a trained building science thermographer. During his 15+-year career, Craig has handled commissioning and field testing of building enclosure systems for many institutional, commercial, and municipal projects.

Sam Parish

Consultant

Sam Parish is a seasoned consulting engineer boasting more than 25 years of experience in commercial construction and industrial engineering. Sam’s extensive background in investigating and analyzing existing buildings is complemented by his specialization in hospital construction, corrosion engineering assessments, and hands-on work experience in multiple nuclear power facilities. He has received comprehensive hazmat safety training and holds certifications in radiation safety and health from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), air quality monitoring, confined space entry, and fall protection systems. Currently, Sam concentrates on building commissioning and field performance verification testing for both new and existing constructions, while also managing forensic assessments.

Brett Daniels

With a wealth of over 15 years in the construction and custom fabrication industry, Brett Daniels is an expert at overseeing a wide range of projects involving both new constructions and existing structures. His specialization lies in building enclosure assessments and forensic investigations. Brett possesses in-depth knowledge and experience with industry-standard field and laboratory testing (ASTM, AAMA) and plays a vital role in all stages of the building enclosure review process. As a Registered Exterior Wall Observer (REWO) accredited by IIBEC, Brett’s formal education in Paralegal Studies further enhances his expertise.
