Chapel ViewCranston, RI

Chapel View is a commercial and residential mixed-use development, located in Cranston RI, consisting of six separate buildings of varying construction types. In response to ongoing renovation requirements BES is providing pre-construction and construction services through all project phases. Services and responsibilities include budgeting, repair design, permitting, bidding, site supervision, scheduling, site logistics, quality control, weekly reporting, and approval of payment applications. At the onset of this project BES provided an extensive condition assessment as part of determining the most efficient scope options.


MGH 149 13th Street

Massachusetts General Hospital – Roof Assessment and ReplacementBoston, MA

As part of the development and execution of the facilities management capital plan, BES completed a roofing and penthouses evaluation, as well as construction administration services for MGH’s largest medical research and laboratory facility, located in the Charlestown Navy Yard. Substantial penthouse masonry and metal roofing restoration was completed to address ongoing water infiltration within occupied spaces below. This multi-year phased project included 65,000 square feet of roofing, as well significant mechanical and electrical coordination and modifications.


Rowes Wharf

Rowes Wharf is a large-scale commercial mixed-use Boston landmark, housing the five-star Boston Harbor Hotel, The Residences luxury condominiums, Class A offices, and retail located on the iconic Boston Harbor.

Our team at BES has provided nearly 10 years of professional consulting services at Rowes Wharf, encompassing the complete building envelope to include brick masonry facade restoration, replacement of low-slope roofs and balconies, and recently completed plaza restoration projects. Additionally, BES has provided continuous support in annual property maintenance of doors, windows, curtain walls and renovations including the hotel’s new Presidential Suite. We have provided full-service consulting from investigation and condition assessment, repair design, bidding, construction administration and onsite quality control through project closeout.


Providence City Hall

Providence City Hall – Building Envelope Condition Assessment and Repair DesignProvidence, RI

BES is the prime design consultant and project manager for the complete envelope revitalization of historic Providence City Hall. Roles and responsibilities have included performing thorough condition assessments on the various original building envelope materials, followed by a master plan, project budget and design documents for bidding of the phased construction. BES will provide construction bidding services, award recommendations, coordination of contracts, and construction administration services through project completion.


The Steel Yard

The Steel Yard Super StudioProvidence, RI

The Steel Yard is a historic, brick masonry structure and an award winning industrial arts center located in Providence, Rhode Island.

BES is providing Owner’s Project Manager (OPM) services including construction oversight and direction, bidding, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, weekly reporting, and payment requisition approval. Additionally, BES provided architectural drawing peer review with a focus and impact on the project’s building enclosure design.

A state-of the art data center, the associates at BES performed the exterior systems investigation, designed rehabilitation plans and details, performed mock-up repair testing, and performed on-site quality control of repairs.


Dexter Southbridge School Ice Arena

Dexter Southbridge School Ice Arena Condition AssessmentBrookline, MA

Provided a condition assessment for existing building enclosure system. Scope included forensic investigation, repair design of new flashing, water proofing and insulation details and quality control through repair construction duration.


Johnson & Wales University - City View Towers

Johnson & Wales University City View TowersCharlotte, NC

City View Towers is an 8-story, 27,000 SF, brick, stucco, and EIFS clad dormitory built in 2004.

BES provided rehabilitation services including a condition assessment of the EIFS, repair design, mock-up review, field-testing, contract administration, on-site quality control, and construction management services.


Massachusetts General Hospital - White Building

Massachusetts General Hospital – White Building Roof Replacement ProjectBoston, MA

Condition assessment and design for MGH capital plan phased roof replacement program with focus on multi-tiered roof replacement. Services included site investigations, condition report, production of complete construction drawing set and project manual package. Scope of work included roof assembly replacement, installation of new pavers, replacement or exterior balcony doors and masonry parapet walls restoration. Significant attention was required to address interior patient-care functions and site logistics through construction management process.
