NEW CONSTRUCTION
In support of building projects BES conducts a wide variety of field and laboratory testing of materials, building components, and systems utilized in the construction of building enclosures. Following standardized testing procedures such as those promulgated by ASTM and AAMA, BES works with Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Contractors to perform specified materials and systems testing to ensure optimum building performance and durability. Project Teams are supported in initiating and implementing a field-testing protocol, as well as performing observation and witnessing of testing by others.
Clients are provided with clear and concise direction when implementing such standards as ASTM E2813 Standard Practice Building Enclosure Commissioning and NIBS Guideline 3-2012 Building Enclosure Commissioning Process BECx.

EXAMPLE PROJECTS
Enfield High School – Enfield, CT
Enfield High School consolidation is an existing 164,000 SF building undergoing a renovation to new, along with the construction of a new 146,000 SF addition. BES is providing peer review, quality assurance, mock-up review, on- site quality control and field- testing services.
The Owner is the Town of Enfield and the Architect is Silver/ Petrucelli + Associates
Johnson & Wales University Bio + Tech Building – Providence, RI
The Johnson & Wales University Bio + Tech Building is a new $40M academic building located on land opened up by the redevelopment of I-195. The 60,000 SF building will serve as home to JWU’s School of Engineering & Design.
BES is providing peer review, quality assurance, mock-up review, on-site quality control, field-testing, and closeout inspection services.
Northeastern University – ICBM Building 5 – Burlington, MA
Northeastern University is currently in construction of a new 104,000 SF, $50M bio-pharmaceutical analysis training laboratory, located in Burlington MA. BES is providing BECx services including peer review, quality assurance, mock-up testing, on-site quality control, various field testing, and closeout inspection services.
University of Rhode Island – College of Engineering – Kingston, RI
The URI Engineering Building is a new $120M academic building located in Kingston. The 190,000 SF facility will serve as home to URI’s College of Engineering.
